Two institutions of regional Mexican music, Banda El Recodo and Banda Machos, have decided to join forces to revive the nostalgia of fans and celebrate the great successes of the 90s. At that time, Banda El Recodo already had a reputation as a representative of Sinaloan music, while Banda Machos, from Jalisco, introduced a new style by merging both worlds.
Among the iconic songs of the era are "Las Nachas", "Me llamo Raquel", "Un indio quiere llorar", "Al gato y al ratón" and, of course, "La Culebra". Colorful outfits full of fringes became trendy, even influencing other traditional band groups.
Banda El Recodo, known as the "mother of all bands", has a wide repertoire of hits from the 90s, including rancheras like "Yo sé que te acordarás", "Una pura y dos con sal", "Te ofrezco un corazón" and "Te lo pido por favor". These songs will be part of the joint tour's show.
The tour, called 'Banda 90’s tour' for the United States, will feature Banda Los Recoditos and Banda Maguey. The tour will start on March 9 in Springdale, Arkansas, and continue until mid-year, culminating in Mexico on July 11 at the Auditorio Telmex in Guadalajara. In this country, the tour will be called 'Las Más Perronas' and will only include Banda El Recodo and Banda Machos, with confirmed performances in ten cities.
The union of these two iconic groups is a significant event for regional Mexican music, strengthening the genre and serving as an example for new generations. Collaboration between bands in this area has been increasing, demonstrating that unity is strength and allowing for events that previously seemed unimaginable.
