
In the context of the tenth edition of the International Music Fair of Guadalajara (FIM GDL), the exhibition "Gatherers" is inaugurated, a tribute to the Chilean artist Violeta Parra. The exhibit features original works and cultural activities at the Museum of Arts (MUSA). Javiera Parra, granddaughter of Violeta Parra, leads this tribute in which Mon Laferte and other influential artists also participate.
During the press presentation, various singers and artists highlighted the importance and relevance of Violeta Parra's legacy. Mon Laferte shared her excitement for participating in this tribute and expressed her inspiration drawn from the works of the Chilean artist.
The exhibition, curated by Beatriz Bustos Oyanedel, presents original works by Violeta Parra, such as arpilleras, paintings, photographs, and documentaries, as well as visual creations by Mon Laferte that explore universal themes such as love, justice, and the popular. The exhibition will be open to the public from February 24 to May 24, with an extensive program of cultural activities.
Javiera Parra emphasized the relevance of the complaints and inspirations represented by her grandmother's works. Mon Laferte, for her part, stressed the importance of Violeta Parra in her own artistic and personal development. Additionally, Mon Laferte will participate in a concert as part of the Portamérica festival, which will take place on March 1 at Plaza Bicentenario in Guadalajara.
In this sense, artists and curators celebrate the opportunity to pay tribute to Violeta Parra, highlighting her legacy as one of the fundamental pillars of Latin American art and music.
