Familial Concerts by Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra

The Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra (OFJ) has announced two new family concerts aimed at introducing children to classical music in a fun and interactive way. These performances, to be held at the Forum of Art and Culture, will feature narrators to engage the young audience in the musical experience.

Under the direction of Maestro Grace Echauri, the concerts will combine storytelling and iconic scores to stimulate the imagination and emotions of the attendees. The program will include the suites from "Lieutenant Kijé" by Sergei Prokofiev and "Sleeping Beauty" by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. These works, known for telling stories through melodies, will be accompanied by narrators on stage, guiding children through the dramatic twists and characters that inspired the compositions.

With this initiative, the OFJ seeks to democratize access to culture and reach new audiences, in this case, by engaging with children. The inclusion of narrators contextualizes the pieces and captures the attention of the little ones, facilitating their auditory and visual immersion in the world of classical music. The Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra thus reinforces its educational commitment and its desire to cultivate a taste for academic music from an early age.

The performances are scheduled for May 18th at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM at the Forum of Art and Culture. Tickets are priced at $200.00 pesos and are already on sale on the platform voyalteatro.com and at the venue's box office. The OFJ offers discounts for students, teachers, seniors, and people with disabilities as part of its inclusion policy.

The Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra aims to create spaces where families can together discover the universal language of symphonic music, fostering interest and curiosity for the arts in new generations.
