The governor of Jalisco, Pablo Lemus, led the start of the "Mexico in the Heart" 2025 tour from the Historic Center of Guadalajara. This initiative, led by Sergio Suárez Ramírez, president of The North American Institute for Mexican Advancement (NAIMA), aims to foster pride in Mexican identity and promote Mexico's cultural traditions in the United States.
"Jalisco is the reference. Jalisco undoubtedly marks Mexican identity anywhere in the United States or anywhere in the world (...) What are we going to do? Well, take a bit of that gratitude we have to all Jaliscienses in the United States, with our traditions, through Mexico in the Heart," stated the Jalisco governor.
The 2025 tour will begin in Los Angeles, California, showcasing the most representative music and dances from Jalisco, as well as performances from Yucatán and Guanajuato. The Ballet Folklórico Guadalajara, Mariachi México en el Corazón, and Banda Colores will be some of the main performers of this edition.
About 70 people, including artists and professional staff, will travel from Jalisco to various locations in the United States, bringing with them the history, hope, and pride of Mexico. The tour will be divided into two routes: one along the West Coast in May, and the other through the Midwest, South, and East in August and September.
"In these two buses that are about to depart to the West Coast of the United States, they carry much more than costumes, musicians, dancers, and technical equipment. They carry history, hope, pride, and the reflection of a Mexico that continues to shine inside and outside our borders," said Suárez Ramírez.
Each year, the "Mexico in the Heart" tour comes to life thanks to the collaboration of various organizations, business groups, universities, and governments in both countries, as well as the work of civil society, sponsors, and volunteers. The events of this initiative are completely free.
Verónica Delgadillo, the municipal president of Guadalajara, highlighted the importance of events like "Mexico in the Heart," as they project the talents of the state capital to other borders, creating a bridge of affection between the United States and Guadalajara.
One of the most important moments of this project will be on September 16, when Jalisco is expected to arrive at Times Square in New York to the rhythm of mariachi and the Ballet Folklórico de Guadalajara.
