The Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL), one of the most prestigious in the Spanish-speaking world, kicked off its 39th edition this Saturday, marked by the presence of Barcelona as the guest of honor city. During the opening, the vital importance of literature, reading, and the fundamental role of the book today was highlighted, along with the awarding of the Lebanese-French writer Amin Maalouf, who received the FIL Prize in Romance Languages.
