The municipal authorities of Guadalajara have announced the deployment of a large-scale security and prevention operation for Holy Week 2026. The actions will be focused mainly on temples, public squares, tourist corridors, markets, shopping centers, and recreational areas. Head of the department, Jenny de la Torre Ruelas, informed that there will be staff and units strategically distributed to handle emergencies and carry out preventive work. "We will have 70 officers and 10 units, which will be strategically distributed at different points in the municipality. It should be noted that special attention will be given to temples, public squares, tourist corridors, markets, shopping centers, and recreational areas, such as the Barranca de Huentitán and Bosque de los Colomos," she detailed. Likewise, a specific operation will be implemented in the city's first square due to the visit of the Seven Temples, with actions of prevention, guidance, and pre-hospital care. Public Safety with land and air surveillance. The Citizen Security Commission reported that the operation will include land and air surveillance. According to Commissioner Ismael Ramírez Méndez, 800 police officers will participate, supported by 300 patrol cars, 100 bicycles, and 100 motorcycles, in addition to the Zeus helicopter and four drones. The deployment will be divided into two fronts: one in the historic center and another on avenues and colonies of the municipality.
