The GDLuz Festival is an annual massive cultural event celebrated for ten years to honor the beautiful Guadalajara. The GDLuz Festival manages to gather hundreds of thousands of attendees. In its most recent edition, it reached a record of 2.1 million people, who during five days participated in the activities and occupied the public space of the Historic Center. Since its first edition in 2017 and to date, it has managed to bring together more than 10 million visitors, positioning itself as one of the most anticipated cultural and public events for the people of Guadalajara. The GDLuz Festival already has official dates for its 2026 edition. The mayor of Guadalajara, Verónica Delgadillo, informed through her social networks that the event will take place from April 23 to 26 in the city's Historic Center. This way, one of the most important cultural gatherings in Latin America will indeed take place after it was announced a few months ago that it would be postponed due to several roadworks being carried out in the first quadrant of the city. The date changed, but the format did not. It should be noted that, unlike in previous years, the festival will not be held in February as is customary, but has been moved to this month of April. It is a four-day festival, we expect hundreds of thousands of people and we hope you come to enjoy it with your family. As advanced by the mayor, they are working on a figure made of wooden sticks that will be a surprise and will reference one of the most representative symbols of Guadalajara. “In this first stage of preparation, the figure of wooden sticks is already being made, which will be a surprise and will be a reference to one of the most important symbols of our city. However, according to what municipal authorities had advanced, the format that has characterized the event will be maintained: an approximate two-kilometer circuit that covers from the Plaza de la Liberación to the esplanade of the Hospicio Cabañas. Likewise, the installation of multiple stations with videomapping shows, illuminated figures, music, and pyrotechnics is expected, allowing attendees to walk through the city center while interacting with various artistic proposals. Delgadillo advances that work is already underway in the first stage.
