Guadalajara Government Removes Abandoned Vehicles

The Government of Guadalajara announced that so far in 2026, more than 1,700 abandoned vehicles have been removed from public streets. This is part of a permanent operation implemented by the Guadalajara Mobility Directorate. According to the Tapatía authorities, these works are carried out with the deliberate aim of freeing up road space and improving mobility conditions in various parts of the city. It should be noted that alongside vehicles removed by tow trucks, others have been removed by their owners after being notified.

Impact of abandoned vehicles The Government of Guadalajara has emphasized that vehicles in a state of abandonment represent an obstruction for vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Furthermore, they contribute to the deterioration of the urban landscape and can lead to the accumulation of waste on public streets. In the same way, they indicate that this type of unit can also become a risk factor in terms of security, by remaining unused for long periods in public spaces.

«Abandoned cars on the streets of our city affect mobility, the urban image, and generate sources of insecurity,» the authorities stated. So far this year, the number of vehicles removed has already exceeded 1,700.

Permanent operation in La Perla Tapatía The operation for the removal of abandoned vehicles remains continuously active in different neighborhoods of Guadalajara. The work includes everything from inspection tours to the identification of units and their subsequent removal in accordance with established protocols. Likewise, they indicated that these actions are part of a strategy to maintain order on public roads and optimize the use of urban space.

Call to report abandoned vehicles The Tapatía authorities took the opportunity to invite the public to report abandoned vehicles through the number 070 or via GuaZap at 33 3610 1010. According to what was shared, to make a report, it is necessary to provide the exact location and, if possible, photographs of the automobile.
