Guadalajara Government Collects Four Tons of Waste

The Guadalajara City Government's cleaning squads carried out an operation on the López Cotilla corridor, where four tons of solid waste were collected. The actions were carried out on the stretch between Francisco Javier Gamboa Street and Enrique Díaz de León Avenue. Four squads participated in the operation, performing manual and mechanical sweeping, as well as graffiti removal and the taking down of advertising from urban furniture. “Four squads were involved, and the work done was: manual sweeping, mechanical sweeping, graffiti removal, as well as the removal of advertising in the area,” highlighted Salvador Cervantes, director of “Guadalajara Limpia”. According to information shared by municipal authorities, approximately 80 square meters were intervened for the removal of graffiti in the area. The work is part of the “Alerta Limpia” program. It should be noted that this intervention is part of the Alerta Limpia program, a municipal strategy focused on the maintenance of public spaces and supervision in commercial corridors. The program stipulates that establishments comply with current regulations, including having a valid license, having a waste collection service, and keeping the front of their businesses clean. “Let each of us do our part to keep the city more beautiful and orderly,” added Cervantes. The operations will continue in other corridors of Guadalajara. To conclude, municipal authorities announced that this type of operation will be replicated in other commercial corridors in Guadalajara as part of urban cleaning actions. The objective of the work, they emphasized, is to keep public spaces in good condition and to encourage the participation of merchants and neighbors in their conservation.
