24 Bodies Found in Mass Grave near Guadalajara

Mexican authorities have discovered 24 bodies in a mass grave in the outskirts of Guadalajara. The investigation, which began on December 13, 2024, identifies victims linked to violent incidents.

As a result of the investigation, starting December 13, 2024, in the area belonging to the Zapopan municipality in western Mexico, law enforcement agencies discovered 24 bodies in a mass unmarked grave. Investigators used unmanned aerial vehicles with thermal imaging cameras and gyroscopic devices, as well as dogs for continued searches.

According to the statement from the attorney general's office of the state of Jalisco, the process of exhumation lasted a month due to the fact that human remains were disinterred and placed in 72 bags. The attorney general’s office also reported that they managed to identify six individuals, including a woman.

"Authorities in Mexico found 24 bodies in a clandestine mass burial site discovered in December on the outskirts of Guadalajara, the second largest city of the country," said the prosecutor on Sunday.
