Controlled Fire in Guadalajara: Active Alerts

The Government of Jalisco and Civil Protection reported that the fire in the El Roble-Puerta de Guadalupe area of the La Primavera forest was controlled this morning, after being reported the previous day. According to the State Civil Protection and Firefighters Unit of Jalisco, the fire was contained around 10:00 AM and is now in the liquidation stage.

"Thanks to the coordinated work among firefighters and authorities from the three levels of government, at 10:00 AM the fire in the El Roble - Puerta de Guadalupe area in the La Primavera Flora and Fauna Protection Area is reported CONTROLLED," mentioned the official account of the State Government.

Despite having controlled the fire, work to extinguish hot spots and prevent possible reactivations of the fire continues. Due to wind direction, an Atmospheric Alert remains in Guadalajara, Tlajomulco, and other nearby municipalities including Teuchitlán, Ameca, Ahualulco, and San Juanito Escobedo until the fire is completely extinguished.

Given this situation, state authorities have recommended that the population of the affected municipalities avoid outdoor activities, keep doors and windows closed, wear masks when going outside, follow official updates, and comply with the instructions from Civil Protection and Semadet.

The atmospheric emergency is declared when emissions pose an imminent risk to the population, while the alert is issued as a preventive measure against events with potentially dangerous emissions.
