Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus expressed his commitment to continue working on security issues in the state after it was revealed that it is no longer among the top places for intentional homicides in Mexico. In a session with the Executive Commission on Security of the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara, Lemus highlighted the work done since he took office in December 2024.
"During these two and a half months, results have been noticeable, and we must continue working without letting up because we have the same objective, which is to guarantee peace for the people of Jalisco," wrote the governor. He emphasized that he will strengthen security measures in the state to achieve more collective progress, highlighting the coordination among municipalities, the National Guard, state corporations, and the Mexican Army in reducing intentional homicides.
In addition to the decrease in intentional homicides, other indicators show a notable decline in insecurity in Jalisco during the first months of Pablo Lemus’ administration. With a drop in crime figures, the state, being the third most populous in Mexico, has made progress that is celebrated by the population.
Lemus has led dialogue sessions with the Executive Commission on Security of the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara where measures have been agreed upon to enhance surveillance in night spaces and operations in public places with the aim of further reducing crime rates in the state.
