Mexican media reported that the body of Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, “El Mencho”, identified as the leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), was transported from a funeral home in Guadalajara to the Recinto de la Paz cemetery in Zapopan under a federal security operation that included road closures and thorough vehicle inspections. According to local reports, the coffin — a golden metal casket — left the funeral home after remaining there for 24 hours. Many roses, a musical band, and people in different attire were visible at the location. Various reports mention that Laisha Michelle Oseguera González, his youngest daughter, was present at the funeral home. Notably, the transfer was made via the shortest route, approximately 26 kilometers long, escorted by personnel from the Mexican Army and the National Guard. For this, official vehicles activated lights and sirens to block traffic and expedite the journey. The objective of the operation with armored units in the area was to reduce risks, avoid massive gatherings, and prevent possible incidents during the transit and burial of a figure whose body is highly sought after. The cemetery where the remains rest is located in Zapopan, and vehicles entering the parking lot were inspected one by one to prevent the introduction of dangerous objects, including firearms.
