The Government of Guadalajara announced that elements of the Tapatía Police participated in a training course imparted in coordination with the Attorney General's Office (FGR), as part of the actions for preparation towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup. It should be noted that the course, titled “Handover of Foreigners for Crime and Administrative Offense and/or Failure to Prove Residence,” was taught by Nicolás Coronel España, Chief Prosecutor of the Investigation and Litigation Team V. Likewise, during the training, tools were provided for police action in cases involving foreigners, with the aim of homogenizing criteria and procedures. According to the authorities, the officers also reinforced their knowledge in matters of detention protocols, handover procedures, and completion of the Standardized Police Report (IPH). Similarly, aspects related to the correct integration of case files and compliance with guidelines on legality and respect for human rights, in accordance with international treaties, were addressed. These actions are part of the police professionalization strategy for the holding of the 2026 World Cup, an event that expects the arrival of international visitors. It should be noted that the world championship will be held from June 11 to July 19 of the current year, during which four matches have been confirmed so far at the Guadalajara Stadium: June 11, 2026: Republic of Korea vs. Winner UEFA Repechage/or other (Group A); June 18, 2026: Mexico vs. Republic of Korea (Group A); June 23, 2026: Colombia vs. Winner Intercontinental Repechage/or other (Group K); June 26, 2026: Uruguay vs. Spain (Group H). To conclude, the authorities reiterated their commitment to maintain coordination with federal agencies in order to strengthen security and guarantee order in the city.
