In a joint operation by the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), the National Intelligence Center (CNI), the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), and the Navy of Mexico (Semar), a presumed operator of Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada in the state of Colima, identified as Itania Noemí "N", was detained in Guadalajara, Jalisco.

Itania Noemí "N" is considered one of the relevant operators of the Sinaloa Cartel, specifically of the faction "Los Mayos", a criminal group that disputes the territory of Manzanillo, Colima, with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). In addition to her role in drug trafficking, Itania Noemí "N" acted as a logistical operator of the Sinaloa Cartel in Colima and ordered criminal activities from the Tetlán neighborhood in Guadalajara, Jalisco.

The lines of investigation into drug trafficking in Colima allowed for the identification of Itania Noemí as the head of a criminal cell responsible for the trafficking of illicit substances and as one of the main generators of violence in the region.

The detention took place in the Mexicalcingo neighborhood of Guadalajara, as a result of an inter-institutional effort involving several security and intelligence agencies. With the information provided by the CNI, reconnaissance and security patrols were implemented, which allowed for locating the woman on Comercio street. Upon noticing the presence of the law enforcement agents, Itania Noemí "N" fled, but was detained after a chase.

"The current arrest warrant against Itania Noemí "N" reflects the seriousness of the crimes she is accused of, and her detention is part of the ongoing efforts by Mexican authorities to combat crime and ensure public safety," reported the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection.
