Chivas turned down AZ Alkmaar's bid for Mateo Chávez, a promising young player. Fans express frustration over the team's decisions affecting players' careers.

Chivas Refuses European Offer for Mateo Chávez

Tapatio Club has stood out in the Expansion League, and despite this, for Mateo Chávez, leaving the team is not an option, where he has recently excelled.

The news of the red-and-white team's refusal to allow Mateo Chávez to leave for the old continent sparked criticism from fans, who expressed their frustration on social media. Some comments referred to Chivas as "the cancer of Mexican football" due to this incident.

In the past summer market, Guadalajara also rejected an offer for Jesús Orozco Chiquete, which may have influenced the central defender's decision to want to leave the team.

Recently, the AZ Alkmaar team from the Netherlands made a formal offer for Mateo Chávez, intending to sign him in this winter market. Although this could have represented an important opportunity for Mexican football, the red-and-white squad rejected the Dutch club's proposal.

Claro Sports reported that the Eredivisie team offered around 1.5 million dollars for less than 75% of the player's rights, who is 20 years old. Despite the offer, the Mexican club decided not to sell the player in the near future, mainly because they do not have many full-backs in the current squad.

In the last Chivas match against Necaxa, Mateo Chávez was a starter, although he only played the first half. This reveals the player's position in the team and the possibility that his departure to AZ Alkmaar will not materialize at the moment.
