The crisis at Club Deportivo Guadalajara continues to deepen with each matchday, and the criticisms towards the team are quick to follow. One of the most recognized coaches in Mexican football, Ricardo Ferretti, who currently works as an analyst on television, has expressed his opinion on the performance of the team known as the Sacred Herd.
After the 2-1 defeat to León in the fourth match of the 2025 Clausura Tournament, Ferretti did not hesitate to harshly discredit the rojiblanco players. In his direct and unfiltered style, the 'Tuca' criticized the quality of the team's play, going so far as to comment: 'The players of Chivas are triathletes, they run, pedal, and swim, but nothing of football.'
During an intervention on the ESPN show Fútbol Picante, Ferretti attacked the team's performance, pointing out the lack of clear ideas and collective play in the team led by Óscar Garciano. According to the 'Tuca's' analysis, Chivas players are unable to translate their physical skills into effective football, limiting themselves to running without a defined purpose on the field.
Ferretti's criticisms were directed not only at the players but also at the behavior of the Spanish coach, Óscar Garciano, who was expelled for assaulting James Rodríguez during the match against León. In this sense, the 'Tuca' described the attitude of the coach as 'shameful' and 'unprofessional.'
Ferretti's controversial statements generated controversy among followers of Mexican football. While some believe his analysis reflects the lack of quality in the tapatío team, others think that the former Tigres coach was too harsh in his criticisms, especially towards young players. The defeat against León leaves Club Deportivo Guadalajara with more doubts than certainties at the start of the 2025 Clausura Tournament, increasing the pressure on the team and its coaching staff.
