In Guadalupe, Mayor Héctor García has confirmed that there will be no increase in property tax, with the aim of avoiding confusion among citizens. This decision was made after complaints arose due to the approval of increases in cadastral values by the Congress of Nuevo León. The mayor emphasized that in the current economic situation, families cannot afford such increases.
García explained that, despite having received the municipality with financial difficulties at the beginning of his administration, adjustments have been made to ensure that citizens' wallets are not affected. Only four new subdivisions will experience a natural adjustment in cadastral values, while the rest of the population will not suffer any increase in property tax.
Additionally, the mayor highlighted that costs are being reduced in the municipality and products are being acquired at lower prices without harming the functioning of municipal departments. The Regularízate Program has been implemented, which has been well received by the population, allowing residents to catch up on their property debts, rights, and fees.
In another news, the new Council Chamber was recently inaugurated at the Municipal Palace of Guadalupe. This room, which has been adapted to be modern, accessible, and inclusive, responds to the mayor's prior commitment to facilitate access for people with disabilities and elderly adults.
Regarding infrastructure issues, the mayor committed to managing the review and rehabilitation of the sanitary drainage in the Azteca neighborhood with Agua y Drenaje, after listening to residents' concerns about the system's collapse due to food waste from certain businesses. Other needs of the neighborhood were also addressed, such as pothole repairs, streetlights, and the rehabilitation of a public school, with García promising to address each of these requests in the framework of an upcoming Macro Public Services Operation to improve the area's environment.
