Traffic on Avenida Ruiz Cortines and the road to Dulces Nombres has experienced a significant increase, causing delays of over an hour in travel times, and recently even residents closed the road as a sign of protest. In response to this issue, the Government of Guadalupe has decided to intervene by implementing measures to facilitate vehicle circulation.
As an immediate response, the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Urban Development has launched road engineering works, including pothole repairs, with the aim of optimizing traffic in the conflict zone.
Among the proposed alternative routes are the following: drivers heading to Apodaca from Monterrey should take the highway and use the turnaround under the bridge to continue north. Those traveling south from Juárez must enter the Bosques de San Miguel neighborhood, turn right on Bosques de los Olivos street, continue through Bosques de San Miguel and then take Valle Alegre street to finally merge onto the highway.
Additionally, a third alternative has been established for those heading to Juárez from Apodaca; in this case, they should stay on the highway towards the toll booth to Cadereyta, take the return under the bridge, and take the road that leads them to Avenida Ruiz Cortines.
To minimize inconvenience for drivers, the municipality of Guadalupe plans to adjust traffic light timings on Ruiz Cortines and at the turnarounds, as well as improve signage in the area and carry out a pothole repair plan on the alternative routes and necessary adjustments.
The planned operation will take place at specific times, beginning on Wednesday, October 30, from 05:00 to 09:00 hours and in the afternoons from 16:30 to 20:30 hours.
