In an act of reaffirmation of ties, the governor of Guanajuato, Libia Denisse Muñoz Ledo, and the governor of Hiroshima Prefecture, Hidehiko Yuzaki, signed a declaration that consolidates the friendship association between both entities. This milestone marks a decade of collaboration with cultural, educational, and economic exchanges.

"I am very proud to be part of such a strong and authentic friendship, as we have between Hiroshima and Guanajuato," expressed Governor Muñoz Ledo, highlighting the depth of the bonds between both regions.

In Guanajuato, there is a community of 2,100 Japanese individuals, with 144 companies from the Asian country established in the state that generate more than 47,000 jobs. In addition, academic exchanges have allowed young people from Guanajuato to have the opportunity to study at Japanese universities.

As a demonstration of the close relationship between both regions, Hiroshima Prefecture donated a sculpture to the state of Guanajuato. This work of art, created by artist Kuetani Itto, will be installed at the León Cultural Forum and represents the shared values of culture, peace, solidarity, and cooperation. "We receive it as a symbol of friendship and understanding between our regions," affirmed Governor Muñoz Ledo.

"Hiroshima and Guanajuato celebrate 10 years since November 2014, when both governments signed an Economic Relationship Agreement," recalled Governor Yuzaki, who emphasized the importance of this alliance for both regions.

This event included the participation of the President and CEO of Mazda Mexico and President of the Guanajuato-Hiroshima Friendship Association AMIGO KAI, Takuji Iwashita; and the Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villaseñor Aguilar.
