Searching mother Cecilia Flores affirmed this Tuesday that she located human remains in Sonora that correspond to her son Marco Antonio, whom she has been searching for since 2019. Through a video posted on her personal social media accounts, Ceci Patricia Flores Armenta reported finding her son on highway 26 at kilometer 46, in Hermosillo, Sonora. «Let's go home, son, from where you never had to leave. I have fulfilled my promise to find you,» she pointed out on social network X. The founder of the collective «Searching Mothers of Sonora» spent nearly 6 years searching for her missing son, and in her work as a searcher, she has found dozens of human remains scattered across the country. «I always knew I would find you, no matter how much time passed, because I had no other reason to live». In the video she shared, Ceci Flores admitted that the DNA testing process is still pending to confirm that the remains found correspond to her son's. The remains allegedly belonging to Marco Antonio's body were found in an arid area of Sonora, which can be seen in the video. «He deserved to find the complete body; unfortunately, I have only found scattered bones; my son's body is not complete,» she lamented. Marco Antonio, son of Ceci Flores, disappeared in 2019 in Bahía de Kino, Sonora, along with his brother Jesús Adrián, who was subsequently released. Since then, Ceci Flores has led the search in clandestine graves, rural areas, and various regions of the state, becoming one of the most visible voices of the searching mothers' movement in Mexico, despite having publicly pointed out possible perpetrators.
