Early Monday morning, security personnel at a farm in Costa de Hermosillo found a newborn baby alive inside a trash can. The minor was taken to a hospital in an emergency and remains in critical condition, according to official reports from the Hermosillo police. The incident occurred at a vineyard in the Miguel Alemán precinct, where a guard on patrol heard constant crying shortly after 3:20 a.m. Following the sound, he found the baby in a black plastic bag placed in a waste container. After the discovery, farm workers notified the authorities and took the newborn to the clinic of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) in the Miguel Alemán settlement. There, he received initial care before being transferred to the Children's and Women's Hospital in Hermosillo due to the severity of his condition. Medical authorities reported that it is a male baby of approximately 32 weeks gestation, who presents respiratory difficulties, prenatal sepsis, and hypothermia. The Hermosillo Municipal Police attended as first responders and confirmed that the abandonment occurred in a trash can within the farm. The corporation indicated that the corresponding authorities were notified to begin the investigation and locate those responsible.
