Citizen reporting is a fundamental tool to eradicate violence and guarantee a safer environment. In Guanajuato, a joint investigation between the Field Investigation Commissioner of the State Public Security Forces (FSPE), the federal Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), and the Attorney General's Office (FGR) led to an operation in the municipality of León, where members of the Secretariat of Security and Peace executed a search warrant in safe houses used by a criminal group generating violence.
As part of this operation, supported by the Tactical Operational Group (GTO) of the FSPE and personnel from the SSPC, three properties were inspected in León. In one of them, handguns and packages with substances similar to methamphetamine hydrochloride, cannabis sativa, and LSD were secured. Gisela Viridiana “N” was arrested as a possible drug distributor for the criminal group.
In the other two properties, Arturo “N” was arrested, suspected of being a drug distributor and generating violence in several municipalities. Long and short firearms, cartridges, magazines of various calibers, and tactical gear with insignia of a criminal group, as well as illicit substances, were found.
A 17-year-old minor was presented to the authorities to clarify responsibilities. The Secretariat of Security and Peace of Guanajuato reaffirms its commitment to combating criminal groups firmly, through intelligence strategies and coordinated operations, in order to strengthen security and citizen tranquility. The population is called to collaborate by anonymously reporting any suspicious activity to 089.
