Three Mexican citizens and four Ecuadorians were brought to trial on drug trafficking charges after being arrested by the Mexican Navy while transporting 32 bundles of drugs off the coast of Colima. The Attorney General's Office (FGR) announced that its office in Colima successfully linked the seven individuals detained on a vessel with 32 bundles, which contained 1,235 kilograms of cocaine.
The detainees in Manzanillo were identified as Mijael 'M', Jesús 'B' and Fausto 'M' of Mexican nationality, and Rubén 'D', José 'B', Mario 'J' and Manuel 'L' of Ecuadorian nationality. According to the FGR, 'an investigation file was initiated and the corresponding expert opinions were conducted, in which it was determined that what was found in the 32 bundles was cocaine'.
In addition to the linking to the process, the public prosecutor obtained a preventive prison measure from the control judge for the crime against health, specifically for cocaine transport. A month was granted for the supplementary investigation.
On October 7, the Secretary of the Navy (Semar) announced the seizure of 3.2 tons of cocaine and the arrest of seven individuals in two separate operations by naval personnel from the Tenth Naval Region. In the first action, marked bundles floating in the sea were found, containing approximately 1.8 tons of cocaine. In the second, around 1.4 tons were secured, and the Mexicans and Ecuadorians were arrested and later linked to the process.
