Itania Nohemí ‘N’, known as 'The German' or ‘La Güera', was arrested and a warrant for her apprehension issued by a district judge was executed in 2021. She is charged with crimes against health and other offenses described in the firearms law. She is considered the leader of an operational cell of the 'La Mayiza' faction, linked to the Sinaloa Cartel, based in Manzanillo, Colima. In this place, she oversees logistics for drug shipments, the reception of chemicals for the production of synthetic drugs, and other criminal activities.
The detention of 'The German' took place in the commercial area of the old colony in Jalisco, where she was trying to blend in among customers and diners. She was apprehended by elements of the Navy and the Mexican Army near the state delegation of the Attorney General's Office (FGR). At the time of her capture, she had dyed blonde hair and was wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans, and black sneakers with a white sole.
The implicated individual was transferred to the facilities of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime (FEMDO). The joint operation was led by the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), the National Intelligence Center (CNI), members of the Secretariats of the Navy and National Defense, as well as the National Guard. Other operations were carried out in the Tetlán neighborhood of Guadalajara in search of accomplices of the detainee and additional evidence for the investigation.
'Itania "N."' is described as a collaborator of 'El Changuito Ántrax', logistics chief of the Sinaloa Cartel in the Port of Manzanillo. She is implicated in collaboration with Rafael Guadalupe Félix Núñez in operations related to the trafficking of chemical precursors from Asia, primarily intended for the production of methamphetamines. The shipment of these chemicals to Australia through Hong Kong has been detected, camouflaged in bottles of mezcal, tequila, avocado oil, tubing, or machines.
Additionally, shipments of glacial acetic acid, used for the production of vinegar and methamphetamines, have been seized at the Port of Manzanillo. These containers were addressed to an alleged company based in Sinaloa. Investigations also indicate a rivalry between the Jalisco and Sinaloa Cartels, led by Julio Alberto Castillo Rodríguez and Rafael Guadalupe Félix, respectively.
