During a work tour in Mazatlán, Governor Rubén Rocha Moya supervised the progress in the construction of the Colosio bridge, a key project to improve mobility in the city. Rocha Moya reaffirmed the State Government's commitment to the modernization of Mazatlán, highlighting the importance of the city continuing to establish itself as a top-tier tourist destination and an economic engine for Sinaloa.
The governor mentioned that the tourist port needs greater mobility and announced that the construction of another bridge is being managed to improve traffic in Mazatlán. This new bridge would be located on Pérez Escobosa street, and it is expected to help further boost the city's growth.
During the supervision of the project's progress, Rocha Moya highlighted the positive impact that the Colosio bridge will have on the mobility of the tourist port. Merchants and vendors expressed their satisfaction with the influx of tourists during the 2025 International Carnival of Mazatlán, which has generated a positive impact on the sales of markets, restaurants, and local businesses.
Some vendors commented that the Carnival has provided a huge economic boost for the city, and that the tourist influx has positively reflected in their sales. The governor explained that the project for the Colosio bridge is based on a study that identified the intersection of Juan Pablo II and Colosio streets as the most congested point in Mazatlán, and that the construction of this bridge will help traffic flow more efficiently in the area.
Rocha Moya informed that the project is expected to be ready by April 15 and emphasized the importance of clearing more obstacles to continue driving the growth of Mazatlán.
