A naval operation in the port of Mazatlán, Sinaloa, led to the seizure of over 600 kilograms of methamphetamine and other drugs hidden in an ingenious double-bottomed trailer truck. The operation represents a significant blow to drug trafficking, authorities stated. In an operation led by the Mexican Navy (SEMAR), more than 600 kg of methamphetamine and other drugs were secured in the port of Mazatlán, Sinaloa, hidden in the double bottom of a trailer truck. This seizure prevented more than 15 million doses of drugs from reaching the streets. According to Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection Omar García Harfuch, the stash was valued on the black market at over 282 million pesos and had the potential to produce over 15 million doses. Secretary Omar García Harfuch detailed that the operation was headed by the Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR). Inside, they found 339 boxes of substances with characteristics similar to methamphetamine, with a total weight of approximately 605 kilograms. In addition to the methamphetamine, 21 packages containing suspected cocaine, fentanyl, and other substances were secured, totaling an estimated 21 kilograms. The vehicle, all the seized drugs, and the driver of the trailer truck were placed at the disposal of the corresponding agent of the Public Ministry, who will be in charge of determining the legal situation of the detainee. The total value of the illicit cargo on the black market is estimated at 282 million 217 thousand 536 pesos. The discovery was made during a routine inspection carried out by personnel from the Naval Port Protection Unit within the port enclosure. During the inspection of the trailer truck, naval elements discovered a double bottom that served as a hidden compartment.
