Nuevo León Governor Announces New Monorail Project

Governor Samuel García shared his impressions from his trip to Japan, where he experienced a monorail. He noted that the world-class public transport system will be launched in Nuevo León soon. The 35-kilometer monorail project will connect the state capital, Monterrey, with Mariano Escobedo International Airport. According to the governor, the system will carry over 200,000 people daily, significantly reducing car usage. 'Imagine how many cars we can avoid with this world-class public transport?' García stated. He also emphasized that the project will benefit not only locals but also tourists and foreign visitors. The governor compared the Tokyo monorail to traditional metro, highlighting its advantages, such as sea views. He urged the population to follow the example of sustainable mobility. 'We arrived at the airport by monorail so my people in Nuevo León can see what we will have soon,' he added. The project is part of the state government's initiatives to decongest the metropolitan area and provide fast, massive, and sustainable transport. 'So, join me,' García concluded.
