State Treasurer Ratification Expected in Nuevo León

Although they will respect the legislative recess in the local Congress, from the Palace of Cantera they expect to ratify Ulises Carlín as state treasurer by the end of April. According to information obtained by LPO, encouraged by the agreement between Félix Arratia and the PRI-PAN coalition to approve his entry into the cabinet, they hope that the current interim official will remain in that position. This comes as a surprise to the opposition camp, which had considered that MC would keep Carlín de Fuente as the interim head since the legislation allowed it. Sources in the legislative branch detailed that on April 2, the 90-day deadline for sending a proposal to the Congress expires. However, there is no specific deadline for its approval, nor is there an expiration date for Ulises's tenure as "interim head." If the document is sent to the local Congress, which will resume its regular sessions on April 13, without a prior agreement, there is a possibility that it could be vetoed, and Governor Samuel García would have to choose another option. The ratification of Ulises Carlín in this position is part of the restructuring of the state cabinet, along with the arrival of Félix Arratia and the potential departure of Martha Herrera in the coming weeks.
