
In the last four months, 12 industrial companies have joined the Comprehensive Air Quality Management Plan (Pigeca) in Nuevo León. The total committed investment has reached 12,935 million 772 thousand pesos, compared to 12,051 million 69 thousand pesos recorded in October of last year.
Alfonso Martínez Muñoz, Secretary of the Environment of Nuevo León, reported that so far 190 companies are participating in the program to improve air quality in the region, of which only 60 are already investing. The rest are in the process of evaluating the programs submitted.
Martínez emphasized that since last October, 119 air quality forecasts have been made, 793 monitoring tours conducted, 333 inspection visits, 103 suspensions, 61 fire assists, and nine suspensions in La Huasteca. Additionally, workshops on metropolitan governance and the relationship with the Federation have been held.
The Secretary of the Environment also announced that they are working on regulating all sources of emissions, regardless of whether they fall under the Federation, the state, or the municipalities.
