Miguel Ángel Flores, Secretary of Government, doubts that the PRI, PAN, and Morena factions in the local Congress will reach an agreement to approve the state budget for this year. According to information from the Legislative branch, this Tuesday, one day before President Claudia Sheinbaum's visit to Nuevo León, the 2026 Fiscal Package would be approved. Flores noted that although there have been rumors of a possible legislative consensus, the Executive branch has not been invited for such purposes. "They haven't looked for us. I have no words," he stated. Flores also expressed doubt that Morena would agree to this. "I don't think they will do it. I don't think Morena would agree to that." Impact on works and budget reallocation. The state official acknowledged that the lack of an updated budget seeks to hinder the work of the State. However, he assured that state finances have allowed for the continuity of key projects, such as the new Metro lines. "If the Executive branch has no budget, then it is an attempt to stall or to trip them up (by the opposition)," Flores assured. "I mean, I am convinced that dialogue will always help in any situation, which is why I have not lost dialogue, but we have not talked about a budget," the official emphasized. Regarding the alleged alliance between opposition political forces to move forward the Fiscal Package, the secretary was skeptical. "Well, if PRIAN and Morena pass a budget, what can I say? However, we have responsible finances, so with the tacit reallocation, we have been able to move forward." Regarding the possibility of operating with a budget that does not contemplate debt, Flores indicated that this would be viable. "As long as the budget is focused on areas that benefit the people of Nuevo León." Flores responded to complaints from mayors, specifically about the delay in the delivery of funds for projects like Triángulo Norte in Escobedo. He clarified that it is not a lack of liquidity, but an exercise of financial responsibility due to the lack of verification of previous expenses by the municipalities.
