Ministerial agents executed two arrest warrants against the administrators of the social media page La Tía Paty, through which they published local gossip and subsequently allegedly demanded payments in exchange for removing the content. The Justice Prosecutor's Office reported the detention of Astrid “N” and César “N”, who, according to the Nuevo León Justice Prosecutor's Office, were captured in the Contry and Cumbres sectors, in the Monterrey metropolitan area. This is how they extorted through the La Tía Paty page. The department stated in an informational sheet that they are being investigated for their “possible participation in the operation of social media accounts identified as ‘Tía Paty’, used for the dissemination of content and the alleged demand for payments in exchange for its removal.” In one case, they allegedly demanded up to 500,000 pesos to delete a publication involving a doctor. “For those who don't know who La Tía Paty from Monterrey is, it's an Instagram page dedicated to exposing people; that is, if someone provided a bad service, for example, if they did a bad job or if someone committed a crime, they would appear on La Tía Paty,” explained an influencer on the Revista Regia page. They also allegedly burned rich men and demanded money from them. Likewise, possible links to recruitment schemes for women for the promotion of sexual services are being investigated, as it is alleged that there was a catalog to which women were invited with the aim of presenting them to high-level socioeconomic men. “Investigation in progress,” indicated the Prosecutor's Office. “They created a catalog of women to present them to ‘nephews’, and then those ‘nephews’ (allegedly) they extorted,” added the influencer. The Prosecutor's Office also reported that the detainees are being investigated for the possible use of official identification documents for identity theft. “Status: detainees have been apprehended and made available to the judicial authority. Under this scheme, it is presumed that they also demanded money in exchange for not disclosing such encounters. La Tía Paty operated in San Pedro, where there are many young women who believe that by relating to wealthy people they will get luxuries.
