Nuevo León Launches Linear Park Project

Governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García, and Mariana Rodríguez, head of AMAR a Nuevo León, planted the first trees for the Linear Park project along Avenida Constitución. This is part of a comprehensive strategy to improve air quality. The "Linear Park Line 4" project, located on Avenida Constitución, is the first phase of the larger "Urban Forests" initiative, which plans to plant over a thousand native trees along a 6-kilometer stretch. "We are starting with the first 60,000 trees; all of Constitución, and you will see the same on the Morones side," stated the governor. He also explained that the project's goal is to facilitate pedestrian mobility. "When the World Cup starts and people begin to use these corridors, they won't have to walk 6 kilometers; there will be bridges every kilometer to cross from Morones to Constitución," he added. Mariana Rodríguez stated that these actions are a legacy aimed at bringing the city to life through collective care for nature. Secretary of the Environment Raúl Lozano Caballero highlighted the environmental benefits, such as reducing heat islands and water absorption. "Today we are not just planting trees; we are sowing green infrastructure that improves air quality, reduces urban heat, and restores balance to our city," he noted. The Linear Park will function as an urban biological corridor that will not only improve the landscape but also facilitate the movement of local fauna and strengthen the ecological balance of the metropolis, providing healthier spaces for citizens.
