Martha Herrera Resigns from Nuevo León Government Post

Martha Herrera González, the former Secretary of Equality and Inclusion for the government of Nuevo León, has confirmed her resignation. In her statement, she explained that she believes in public ethics and wants to dedicate all her energy to a project that requires her full commitment and independence from her role as a public official. Herrera stated that her decision is not a retreat from her causes but, on the contrary, a way to honor them with greater clarity. After her departure, she will focus all her efforts on leading the operations of the Citizen Movement (MC) in Monterrey. Officials at Cantera Palace believe she has not performed well in the political operations in Monterrey. She seeks to improve her electoral strategy with the intention of still being the MC's candidate for Monterrey. It is reported that she does not have positive traction in internal polls, she does not distance herself from the social programs of the PRI and 4T, and they are already talking about the possibility of Secretary of Government Miguel Flores being the candidate for the municipality. However, Herrera anticipates connections with national-level figures like Jorge Álvarez Máynez and also hopes to take advantage of Dante Delgado's recent entry into the party.
