In Nuevo León, Mexico, Astrid N, identified as one of the administrators of the 'La Tía Paty' account, has been arrested. This account, according to the state prosecutor's office, is part of a network involved in extortion. Astrid N was detained on March 26, 2026, along with César N. They are accused of participating in the operation of social media accounts used to disseminate compromising content and demand payments for its removal. Astrid N appears in photographs with Mariana Rodríguez, the wife of the state governor, taken at various events in Monterrey. These include a press conference for actress Bárbara de Regil during a cardio event. Other influencers and event organizers were also present. According to journalist Lourdes Mendoza, the 'La Tía Paty' account actively promoted brands linked to Mariana Rodríguez while simultaneously harassing her ex-partner, Gaby Elizondo, and her bakery. Previously, Mariana Rodríguez distanced herself from the case, stating she is not responsible for others' actions. Astrid N's former lawyer, José Ulises García, claimed to have received threats from her family and pointed out financial irregularities. The other suspect, César N, was also connected to various social circles in Monterrey. The 'La Tía Paty' network operated on a 'defamation for ransom' scheme, first publishing compromising information and then demanding money for its removal. The state prosecutor's office has confirmed at least nine such complaints, with victims being threatened with the publication of personal data or rumors, and demands for up to 500,000 pesos to remove content.
