Nuevo León Prepares for World Cup

To project a world-class image for the upcoming arrival of the FIFA World Cup in Nuevo León, the State Highway Network (REA) has initiated a special program for cleaning and comprehensive maintenance on the main road accesses to the state. This initiative, carried out through the Infrastructure Directorate of the REA, adds to the state's "Ponte Nuevo" strategy. The comprehensive cleaning and maintenance of Nuevo León's main roadways seeks collaboration between the State Government and the Private Sector to improve the visitor experience and the state's urban image. The work began on the stretch from kilometer 10 to 24 of the Highway to Laredo, as well as on the Miguel de la Madrid Viaduct, a key access point to the Monterrey-Cadereyta Highway. The agency reported that specialized crews will extend their operations to other strategic routes, such as the highways to Reynosa and Colombia. This ensures that the entrances to the metropolitan area will be in optimal condition. The work includes actions of: general cleaning and waste removal; vegetation clearance work; preventive maintenance on shoulders, access ditches, and central medians. Commitment to quality infrastructure During a tour to supervise the progress of the works, Felipe Flores Escamilla, General Director of the REA, highlighted the importance of these actions for the state's positioning. "This program is part of the coordinated effort between state agencies and the private sector to project an orderly, safe, and competitive image of Nuevo León." "We are ready to receive our visitors with quality infrastructure and in optimal conditions," assured Flores Escamilla. To guarantee the efficiency of these interventions, the REA is conducting technical evaluations and field surveys to optimize the allocated resources. The maintenance program will remain active throughout the period of sporting events and cultural activities related to the World Cup. In this way, the communication routes will remain safe and presentable for national and foreign tourism.
