The technical secretary of the Nacajuca city council, Luis Alberto Rivera, was shot dead on Wednesday after leaving his residence in the Taxco ranch located in Tabasco. According to reports from national media, Rivera was driving his vehicle when he was intercepted by armed individuals on motorcycles who opened fire on his car. The attackers fled after shooting at the official, who was apparently still alive.
According to local witnesses, Luis Rivera received medical attention at the scene, but unfortunately, he died due to the severity of his injuries. The mayor of Nacajuca, Roberto Ocaña, confirmed the tragic loss of one of his closest collaborators in an interview with the media. Ocaña expressed: "Today unfortunately, (violence) directly impacts us as a government. He was a colleague who had an important responsibility."
As of the afternoon of April 30, the Tabasco Prosecutor's Office has not provided official information regarding this case.
