Blockades in Pachuca Due to Transporter Protests

The Secretary of Public Security, Transit, and Road Safety of Pachuca has reported on road closures in the city due to protesters. They detailed that 35 transport trucks blocked the streets, including Prolongación Juárez towards the center, Avenida Constitución, Boulevard Everardo Márquez, and Avenida Juárez towards the south.

Authorities have recommended alternate routes such as Boulevard Everardo Márquez, Avenida Constituyentes, and 12 de Octubre to exit to Maestranza and merge towards Abasolo. A partial closure of traffic has been reported on the Mexico-Querétaro highway at the Tepotzotlán toll plaza, direction Mexico City, due to the presence of protesters.

"Approximately, since 5:00 in the morning, about 100 transporters are on the Mexico-Pachuca highway and their goal is to reach Mexico City," reported the news of Ciro Gómez Leyva. The transporters are demanding greater security and have affected roads such as Avenida Central. Lines 1 and 4 of the Mexicable have suspended their services.

A rollover of a public transport van attempting to avoid the caravan of transporters on the Mexico-Pachuca highway has been reported. The accident occurred in the Mexibús lane towards Mexico City. Protesters have blocked roads in the State of Mexico and Mexico City, including the Mexico-Pachuca at El Vigilante and Lechería - Texcoco.

Local media have reported that the Tuzobús system and traffic in various arteries of the city of Pachuca are affected. The transporters, coming from Zimapán, are protesting a case of abuse of two minors in that municipality. Classes have been suspended at a secondary school in Pachuca due to the roadblocks, which have been constant in recent days.
