Guadalupe Acosta Naranjo, spokesperson for the National Civic Front (FCN), urged to address any issue concerning the Palenque ranch directly with the President of the Republic, referring to legislators affiliated with the current administration, such as Gerardo Fernández Noroña and Ricardo Monreal, as "duck's mouth to defend the indefensible." Acosta Naranjo emphasized that these figures act according to the instructions received and do not make decisions on their own.
Referring to the role of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), Acosta Naranjo mentioned the importance of the proposal by Minister Juan Luis González Alcántara, who advocates for the Judicial Power to protect the professional career service and avoid constitutional violations. The spokesperson of the FCN pointed out that this proposal could be a way to avoid a constitutional crisis and called on President Sheinbaum to accept the "white glove of the Court" to evaluate the reforms with a consensus approach and avoid confrontations between Powers.
Acosta Naranjo warned about the possible consequences of disobeying the resolutions of the Supreme Court, indicating that this could compromise the legitimacy of institutions. He also suggested the option of a "rebellion of the polls" as a defense of democracy through citizen participation and highlighted the importance of peaceful mobilization.
The FCN spokesperson questioned the narrative that attributes a decisive majority in Congress to Morena and reminded that the ruling coalition does not have 59% of the votes. Acosta Naranjo argued that citizens gave a mandate to demand balance in the Legislative and not an overrepresentation of a single political group.
Regarding the possible ruling on the unconstitutionality of the judicial reform, the FCN spokesperson expressed confidence that the Supreme Court would emerge victorious, as the Constitution prohibits modifications that undermine human rights or international agreements. Additionally, he called on the Court's ministers not to resign and not to make hasty decisions.
On the other hand, Acosta Naranjo criticized the legislative performance concerning the reform and mentioned that legislators are unaware of the content of the minutes they approve. He also questioned the possible influence of former President López Obrador on political decisions from his ranch in Palenque, Chiapas, and urged President Sheinbaum not to answer the "red phone" she claims to have at the ranch.
In summary, Guadalupe Acosta Naranjo called to consider Minister Alcántara's proposal as a way to avoid conflicts between the Executive and the Supreme Court, highlighted the importance of respecting the Constitution, and warned about possible constitutional crises if institutions do not operate within the legal framework.
