Puebla's Financial Struggles Continue Amid Investment Issues

The state of Puebla is awaiting a determination from federal authorities to find out if it can recover resources related to failed investments, according to Josefina Morales, Secretary of Planning and Finance. Morales also mentioned that all necessary actions have been taken in this process, while possible sanctions for those responsible have not yet been applied, leaving this decision in the hands of the Secretariat of the Public Function.

In another matter, the debt of the state of Puebla with the National Commission for Sports (Conade), which dates back to the administration of Mario Marín and amounts to over 12 million pesos, was addressed. It was reported that the resources have been secured to settle this debt before the end of January, which would allow the state to participate again in organizing international sporting events.

On the other hand, the case of Accendo Bank remains unresolved, and weekly trips to Mexico City are being carried out to try to recover part of the 6 billion pesos invested. Morales Guerrero, head of the Finance Secretariat, mentioned that there is no certainty about the possibility of recovering these resources, as it all depends on federal authorities. Despite nearly two years having passed since this failed investment became public, they are still waiting for updates on the matter.
