The Secretary of Infrastructure, Manuel Contreras, announced that by the end of this month, the Ejército de Oriente traffic distributor in Amalucan will be fully completed. Although the bridge was partially opened last weekend, the project is still in its final phase with work on the perimeter accesses, which were damaged and are being rehabilitated. "It is in the final construction phase, the accesses are being improved, and it will soon be inaugurated," the official stated.
The construction of this distributor began on February 26, 2024, with an investment of 750 million pesos, during the administration of former governor Sergio Céspedes Peregrina.
On another topic, Contreras informed that the preparations have begun at Casa Puebla for the installation of the Maternity House and the Mental Health House, projects that will last approximately four months. Currently, maintenance work is being carried out in the area, which has required the constant entry and exit of machinery to eliminate moisture and recondition the accesses.
The secretary explained that the adaptation of these spaces for pregnant women will include the remodeling of existing offices and the construction of new areas, although formal work has not yet begun. According to public tenders SPFA-OP-LPE-2025-008 and SPFA-OP-LPE-2025-007, the construction of both projects will start on February 25, 2025.
