Puebla Consolidates in Franchise Growth

Puebla ranks as the fourth state with the highest growth in the franchise sector nationwide, hosting more than 375 brands operating in its territory. Lidia Quezada, director of the International Franchise Fair (FIF), highlighted during a virtual meeting that these brands are present in around 1,600 points of sale distributed in strategic municipalities such as the capital, Atlixco, and Tehuacán, generating approximately 3,200 direct jobs in the region.

The sectors with the greatest presence in Puebla follow national consumption trends, particularly in food and beverages (35%), health and beauty (28%), and general services (12%). At the national level, only Mexico City and its metropolitan area, Jalisco, and Nuevo León surpass Puebla in terms of the number of franchises.

Quezada emphasized that franchises experienced an 11% increase in 2024, especially in the health and beauty sectors. Despite the challenges arising from the situation with the United States, there is no concern about franchise closures, as there are opportunities for expansion in other states and abroad.

In Quezada's words: "International brands seek to expand in Mexico and Latin America, while Mexican brands are also looking to grow in Puebla, in other states, and abroad. This provides confidence to franchises, guaranteeing that the business model continues to grow."

Mexico ranks as the fifth country with the highest growth in the franchise sector, representing more than 5% of the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP), with over 1,500 brands in operation generating around one million jobs throughout the country.

The International Franchise Fair (FIF) will take place from March 6 to 8 at the World Trade Center (WTC) in Mexico City, with the participation of national and international brands from various countries seeking new investors and expansion opportunities in Mexico and Latin America.

During FIF 2025, visitors will have the opportunity to explore franchise options in sectors such as technology, education, health, beauty, food, and beverages, with investments ranging from 150,000 pesos for products like purified water to more than two million pesos to establish a restaurant.
