The president of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), Héctor Sánchez Morales, acknowledged that security indices impact investments, although so far the projects for the state agreed upon in trade missions abroad have not declined.
In an interview, Sánchez Morales pointed out that the critical points of assaults on transporters continue to be the Arco Norte and the Puebla-Veracruz highway, specifically in the stretches of Esperanza and San Martín Texmelucan, where members have reported up to five cases a week. He called on authorities to continue strengthening security on the roads to prevent investments from being hindered.
The business leader also mentioned that he has held meetings with the mayor of Puebla, José Chedraui Budib, and will seek meetings with other mayors in the surrounding area, such as those of San Martín Texmelucan and Huejotzingo. He emphasized that despite security problems, the CCE has participated in security meetings organized by the authorities, which has allowed investments agreed upon in countries like Spain, Germany, and the United States to remain unaffected.
In his own words, Héctor Sánchez Morales stated: “So far we are still sailing smoothly in that sense. We have no indications that investments in the state have decreased. In fact, several have been confirmed in Spain, Germany, and the United States, in sectors such as agave and real estate.”
