The municipal government of Puebla reported a successful Holy Week with zero incidents. This was made possible by the deployment of over 1,200 police and security personnel who ensured safety at religious events and tourist destinations across the state.

Puebla, the state capital, closed Holy Week celebrations with a clean slate, thanks to the deployment of over 1,200 elements of the City Police, reported the municipal government headed by Pepe Chedraui through the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC). During the holy days, the corporation maintained surveillance, proximity, and supervision tours at various points in the city, especially in religious activities such as those held in the Historic Center, El Calvario, and in the 17 auxiliary juntas. Coverage in the auxiliary junta of Ignacio Romero Vargas stood out, where the traditional Via Crucis was held without incidents. For Holy Saturday, the operation was reinforced with police presence and Civil Protection paramedics at high-traffic sites, such as the Agua Azul water park, Africam Safari, the water parks of San Francisco Totimehuacan, the Valsequillo dam, and the waterfalls of El Aguacate, where a clean slate was also reported. This Resurrection Sunday, the security deployment continued with over 1,200 elements, including special groups, K9 pairs, intelligence units, traffic control, video surveillance, and monitoring via drones from the General Directorate of Emergency and Immediate Response (DGERI), with the objective of guaranteeing the tranquility of citizens and tourists. Governor Alejandro Armenta, for his part, conducted a supervisory tour at the Agua Azul water park and an overflight of areas such as Metepec and the Ex Hacienda de Chautla, where he verified the correct implementation of preventive measures and the coordinated work between corporations. Authorities highlighted that, together with state and federal instances, permanent patrols were maintained in tourist areas, reinforcing security during this vacation period. For this Holy Week 2026 season, an estimated 950,000 visitors were expected to arrive in the state, with an economic impact of over 1,043 million pesos and a hotel occupancy of 75 percent. The operation was carried out through a coordinated land-air scheme with the participation of more than 4,000 elements from the State Public Security Secretariat, the Secretariat of National Defense, the Secretariat of the Navy, the National Guard, and municipal police, consolidating a peaceful and orderly environment in the entity.
