Award for Best Graduate Thesis 2024 in Puebla

BUAP celebrated the awarding of the Best Graduate Thesis Award 2024, recognizing the efforts of 10 graduates in various scientific and technological disciplines. The Rector emphasized the importance of research in the professional development of students.

Rector María Lilia Cedillo Ramírez delivered the corresponding medals and trophies in the Baroque Hall of the Carolino Building, recognizing the work of the graduating researchers. She highlighted that the life of a researcher is full of challenges but also satisfactions, predicting professional success for the awardees. On this occasion, BUAP awarded the Best Graduate Thesis Award 2024 to 10 graduates in various scientific, technological, and humanities disciplines. These works were carried out between August 2023 and July 2024.

In the words of the Rector, "They are a source of pride for the institution and will succeed in their professional lives." The awards recognized the significance of the research conducted by these young people, who dedicated between two and four years to their projects. In Exact Sciences, Citlalli Gabriela Vidales Hernández excelled in master's, and Jesús Aldair Pantoja González in doctorate. In Engineering and Technology, Marcos Ariel Leiva Vasconcellos and María Corazón Flores Bautista stood out in master's and doctorate, respectively.

The Vice-Rector for Research and Graduate Studies (VIEP), Ygnacio Martínez Laguna, mentioned that this initiative aims to motivate students to execute innovative projects that transform reality. For his part, the General Director of Scientific Dissemination of the VIEP, Arturo Fernández Téllez, emphasized the commitment, passion, talent, and creativity of the participants in each area of study.

The judging panel, composed of academics from BUAP and other institutions, evaluated the theses presented by the 642 graduates from 131 graduate programs. The awardees in Education and Humanities were Luis Alberto Castillo Flores and Lizbeth Celaya Vargas; in Economic and Administrative Sciences, Selene Guadalupe Luna Castro and Mary Kriss Parra Górriz; and in Natural and Agricultural Sciences, Estrella del Mar Castillo López and Diana Moroni González.

The award ceremony was attended by the Director of Graduate Studies of the VIEP, Yadira Navarro Rangel, and the Director of Fleming Pharmacies, Constantino Gil Juárez. In an event dedicated to recognizing the effort, passion, and dedication of researchers, the generation of knowledge and the significance of their work in various fields of knowledge were celebrated.
