During this period, the minor received medication without a medical evaluation. Due to breathing difficulties, he was taken for a consultation and subsequently admitted on January 28th to the General Hospital of San Pablo del Monte, where he presented a general deterioration. Due to the severity of the case, he was transferred to the Tlaxcala Children's Hospital, where the protocol for a suspected measles case was activated. The Secretariat detailed that the patient was admitted with severe PARS and refractory hypoxemia, as well as vasoplegia and myocardial dysfunction, without responding to the intensive management initiated. Despite the use of systemic antibiotics and immunoglobulin, the progression of the disease complicated his health status. The health authority indicated that the case was reported to the General Directorate of Epidemiology and the National Center for the Health of Children and Adolescents. The official communication specifies that “he had an incomplete vaccination scheme, as he did not have the corresponding measles dose”. Finally, the Health Sector urged mothers, fathers, and guardians to review vaccination cards and go to macro-centers or health centers to complete their schemes. It also warned that “high mobility and neighboring states with measles are the most important risk factor”.
