The Secretary of Public Security of Puebla, Francisco Sánchez González, reaffirmed his commitment not to back down in the coordinated work with the three levels of government to combat insecurity in the entity, despite receiving alleged threats from a criminal group. During a conference, Sánchez González stated that this type of situation is not new to him and that he is prepared to face them.
"We have received support and solidarity from the State Security Table, as well as from deputy Andrés Villegas Mendoza, president of the Security Commission of the local Congress, who was also mentioned in the threats," said Sánchez González. The secretary's statements come after a video circulated on social media where seven armed and hooded men identified themselves as members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and issued threatening messages towards the Secretary of Security and the legislator.
"This, far from stopping us, motivates us to continue," expressed Sánchez González, highlighting the importance of maintaining coordination with the Federation and municipalities to strike against organized crime. The secretary reiterated his commitment to the safety of citizens, stating that he will remain firm in his work in compliance with the orders of Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier.
Amid the situation, a message from the CJNG directed at the vice admiral and head of the State Public Security Secretariat circulates on social media, highlighting the complexity of the security environment in the region. Sánchez González expressed that, despite the threats, he will continue working for a safer environment for the inhabitants of Puebla, trusting in the support of the authorities and the importance of inter-institutional collaboration to confront crime.
