On January 26, operations were carried out at three addresses located in the states of Tlaxcala and Puebla. As a result of these operations, various relevant findings were made. In Tlaxcala, two laboratories containing chemical precursors, a long firearm, and 320 cartridges of different calibers were found. In the San Cristóbal La Calera neighborhood in Puebla, 12 people were arrested, and three handguns, eight loaded magazines, one kilogram of 'crystal', one kilogram of white powder, and 21 mobile phones were seized. In another property in the Haras subdivision in the capital of Puebla, two people were arrested, and a handgun and 700 grams of 'crystal' were confiscated.
During the raids, reactors, condensers, mixers, vehicles, a shotgun, as well as bags with a substance similar to crystal, drying material that could be methamphetamine, and various chemical products were discovered. Authorities continue investigations to determine the magnitude of the criminal group's operations and carry out the corresponding judicial actions. Among those arrested are two women, who were also placed at the disposal of the relevant authorities.
The operation was carried out by the Secretary of the Navy (Semar) and the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) of the Attorney General's Office (FGR), in conjunction with the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena), and the National Guard (GN).
The arrests were made as part of an investigation that identified the presence of a criminal group linked to the Sinaloa Cartel, dedicated to drug trafficking. Search warrants were obtained to intervene the three addresses in Puebla and Tlaxcala, resulting in the detention of 14 people and the seizure of two laboratories, weapons, and illegal substances. Authorities informed the detainees of their constitutional rights, and the confiscated items were handed over to the Public Prosecutor for further investigations. All detainees are considered innocent until proven guilty by a judicial ruling, in accordance with the National Code of Criminal Procedure.
