The Secretary of Mobility and Transport (SMT) made the decision to revoke the concession of the operator of unit 97 of Route 68, after he and an accomplice were involved in an act of physical aggression against a young passenger who did not have change to pay for his fare. The events took place on Wednesday, February 26, when the driver and the collector of the unit assaulted the young man due to his refusal to accept a high-denomination bill as a form of payment.

The aggression was captured in a video that went viral on social media, showing a motorcyclist who witnessed the incident. After a heated verbal exchange, the student was dropped off at the Bulevard Xonacatepec stop, where he was physically assaulted by the driver and his accomplice. The Secretary of Mobility and Transport, Silvia Tanus Osorio, spoke out about this through her social networks, offering support to the victim and announcing an investigation against those responsible.

In a statement issued the following day, the agency confirmed that procedures had been initiated to revoke the concession of the involved unit and impose sanctions on the aggressors. They emphasized that violence in public transportation is unacceptable and will not be tolerated under any circumstances, reiterating the obligation to ensure a safe and dignified service for all users.

The SMT emphasized the importance of concessionaires and operators respecting passengers' rights, maintaining professional behavior in accordance with current regulations. They also called for continued supervision and improvement of the service so that the residents of Puebla can move safely and with full respect for their rights.
