María Luisa Núñez Barojas, founding activist of the group 'Voice of the Disappeared in Puebla', stated that this group has carried out hard work in the entity regarding the disappearance of people. The work done to promote the creation of the specialized prosecutor's office, the search commission, the approval of state laws, and the fight for the rights of the disappeared is highlighted.
Núñez Barojas expressed that the National Day of Searching Families should not exist, but due to the omission of the State, groups like Mothers Searchers arise. These groups are forced to search for their missing loved ones by themselves, with limited resources, without the necessary state support.
The activist also called on Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier to fulfill his electoral promise to meet with the families of the disappeared. There is concern about the call to change the head of the Search Commission for Persons in Puebla, a movement that leaves families on the sidelines and could repeat past negative experiences regarding the search for the disappeared.
María Luisa Núñez Barojas recounted how she founded the group after the disappearance of her son in 2017. She emphasized that it was her own investigation and work that led her to find her deceased son in a clandestine grave, which motivated her to continue fighting for the rights of all families searching for their missing loved ones.
